Conduct a Public Hearing on whether Grayson County should order an election to issue bonds in the amount not to exceed $250 million to finance the relocation of the County jail, courtrooms and related offices out of downtown Sherman. This would result in a Countywide property tax increase of approximately 50 percent, rather than expand the current jail for a cost of $35 million using approximately $16 million in federal ARPA funds and cash reserves of approximately $19 million.
Discuss and authorize Bickerstaff Heath Delgado Acosta, LLP, the County’s bond counsel, to prepare an order calling a bond election on November 8, 2022, for discussion and possible action at a subsequent meeting of the Commissioners Court.
Discuss and take action on request to consider continuation of regulation of outdoor burning due to drought conditions.
Discuss and take action to approve 2022-23 Texas Association of Counties Health and Employee Benefits Pool Medical and Dental Benefits Renewal.
