Hold a public hearing on the proposed Grayson County 2022-23 tax rate of $.3051 per $100 valuation. The proposed tax rate is greater than the no new revenue tax rate, which means the proposed tax rate of $.3051 is effectively an increase to property taxes for the 2022 year.
Discuss and take action to approve the property tax increase reflected in the budget. This budget will raise more revenue from property taxes than last year's budget by an amount of $4,430,304 or 10.8%, and of that amount $1,917,032 is tax revenue to be raised from new property added to the tax roll this year.
